- : Tue,May.2024
Mother’s Day — a cherished occasion dedicated to the incredible women who shape our lives in ways beyond measure. Each year, on May 11th, we come together to honor the profound impact of mothers, the true architects of love and guidance bestowed upon us by the divine. This celebration extends not only to the mothers in our homes but also to the unsung heroes of the showbiz industry — the working mothers who gracefully navigate the demands of both career and motherhood, emerging as champions in their own right. Today, our cover is dedicated to all these superwomen!!
Anumta Qureshi, an actress and now a proud new mother, bravely shares her insights on the perceptions surrounding motherhood in the showbiz industry.
“In the realm of showbiz, motherhood is often perceived as a potential weakness for women. There’s a prevailing notion that becoming a mother might hinder one’s career prospects—that roles or opportunities may dwindle once motherhood enters the picture. Similarly, there’s a stereotype surrounding working mothers, suggesting they can’t effectively balance home, children, and their professional endeavors. However, I firmly believe that women are bestowed with remarkable management skills by the grace of God”
Women never cease to amaze when they step into motherhood. Not only do they pour their hearts into nurturing their children, but some also shoulder the responsibility alone, as single mothers. Juvaria Abbasi, an actress and a single mother, exemplifies grace and resilience in navigating this journey.
“Motherhood has been an eye-opening journey for me, unveiling the depths of true love in ways I never imagined. The overwhelming affection I feel for my daughter, Anzala, from the moment she entered my life has been nothing short of magical. It’s a love that knows no bounds — I find myself willing to give her the world, fulfilling her every request with joy. Yet, I must acknowledge the invaluable role my family has played in raising her. My mother and grandmother have been pillars of support, contributing significantly to her upbringing. I’ve always believed in the importance of instilling family values in Anzala, fostering a close bond with her grandparents like ‘Dadhiyal’ and ‘Nanhiyal’. Indeed, I wholeheartedly agree that grandparents play an indispensable role in shaping a child’s upbringing”
Motherhood is a beautiful feeling , a responsibility and choice as well, Sarah Memon a radio host and a working mother opens up about the responsibilities motherhood brings to her life.
“We often hear the saying, ‘Bache Palte Nahi Hain, Paalna Parta Hai’ — children don’t just raise themselves, they need nurturing. I firmly believe that this responsibility is not to be taken lightly. Our children are not only our priority but also our contribution to shaping the future of society. Therefore, mothers should approach their role with utmost seriousness and dedication. Raising a child is not just a task; it’s a profound responsibility—one that should be regarded as the most important goal in life for anyone planning to have kids.”
The life of a writer isn’t so different from that of any other mother pouring her heart into the well-being of her child. Rida Bilal, a television writer, offers some heartfelt advice.
‘I’d advise taking good care of yourself because if you neglect your own well-being, you won’t have anything left to give. Despite not possessing superpowers, motherhood grants us an inherent ability to multitask and accomplish things we never thought possible. However, even with this strength, we still rely on the support of others to navigate the challenges of managing our children, home, and work.’
Finally, we had the pleasure of speaking with the multi-talented Javeria Siddiqui—a magician in the worlds of dermatology, makeup artistry, and motherhood. Despite juggling her roles as a salon owner and a homemaker with finesse, Javeria emphasizes the importance of having a support system in place.
“At times, balancing work and homemaking made me question if I was managing both aspects effectively. But now, I’ve come to realize the benefits it brings not just for myself but also for my children. The idea of being a working mother sounds pretty cool, doesn’t it?” she chuckled. “I’d encourage all women to pursue their education, empower themselves, and prioritize their children alongside their careers.”
These remarkable women embody courage, love, and unwavering dedication as they strive for a brighter future for their children. They embrace motherhood as both a privilege and a responsibility, inspiring us all with their strength and resilience. On this Mother’s Day, let us extend our heartfelt wishes to all the beautiful mothers out there. Your love knows no bounds, and your sacrifices do not go unnoticed. Happy Mother’s Day!
